Meet The Team

About Us

Following the completion of the 2023 season, the 2024 Texas A&M SAE BAJA team was selected and they hit the ground running on their new design. Starting from a first principles approach, the team broke down the most important areas of the competition and the lessons learned from previous years. They developed a design philosophy for the vehicle focused on performance, durability, and manufacturability. Additionally, the team was very intentional about the culture they created from the start of the season, emphasizing cross-team communication, constructive criticism, and working together. Despite working internships and taking online classes, our students worked diligently over the summer to complete research on the different areas of the vehicle and work toward its design.

By using Gantt charts and various other KPIs, the team is tracking their design progress and will be on track to complete their vehicle build in the next year. Every year, the team relies on the generous donations of individuals and companies to fund the manufacturing of their vehicles, and this year’s team is no different. Every year significant amounts of well engineered parts and designs must be scaled back to more a more affordable variation due to budget constraints. This year we are seeking to reduce how much sacrifice must be made as we strive to design and manufacture the best performing Baja car Texas A&M has ever produced.
