We are the Texas A&M University Solar Car Racing Team - a student run organization that designs, builds, and races solar electric vehicles in various national competitions.

Solar Car Racing is a Collegiate Design Series put on by the Innovators Educational Foundation (IEF) in which more than 55+ teams of university students from across the United States, build, develop, and compete with sedan sized, solar-powered race cars. The competition includes two types of event, the American Solar Challenge and the Formula Sun Grand Prix. The American Solar Challenge is a cross-country time/distance rally event that covers a distance of 1,500-2,000 miles between multiple cities across the country. The Formula Sun Grand Prix is a track event that is held on Grand Prix or road style closed courses and tests the limits of solar cars in handling curves, braking, and acceleration. The event has had over two decades of organized events in North America.
